Challenge
A printed book was required to accompany Jason Fulford’s Mushroom Collection exhibit at the Minneapolis Institute of the Arts. The intention of the book was to highlight the concept that “new ideas grow out of unexpected associations.”
Solution
We achieved the goal of the “unexpected associations” aspect of the book by binding in a set of perforated gummed stamps printed in color. The reader was encouraged to place the stamps throughout the book. As humorous a side bar, we included an additional un-gummed version, as the museum was afraid that visiting school children would stick the stamps all over the museum.
